Ben Murphy

Ben graduated from Texas Tech University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting. He then received his CPA in 1986, and he received his Personal Financial Specialist designation in 1999. He is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ben has 25 years experience in the accounting profession. He started in 1984 as a staff professional at a local Snyder firm. Five years later, Ben opened his own practice, Ben Murphy CPA. He is currently pursuing a degree in Personal Financial Planning through the Master of Business Administration Executive Program at Texas Tech University.

He has expanded his practice to include an office in Lubbock, TX, and his staff has grown to eight employees.

Ben comes from a ranching family and has a special understanding of the unique problems faced by the agricultural community.

Paula Barbee

Paula grew up in Midland, Texas where she graduated from Greenwood High School. She has a 13 year old daughter, a 9 year old step-daughter, and a 2 year old little boy. She worked for a bookkeeper in Midland for 6 years before marrying and moving to Snyder. Paula previously worked for a landscape and construction company where her duties varied daily and her multi-task skills were a great asset.  She joined Ben Murphy’s office in July, 2008 where she soon fell back to her roots.

Mary Castillo

 

Mary started her career working as a bookkeeper for JC Penney Co. She then owned and operated an office supply store with her husband for 20 years. She started working for Ben Murphy CPA in January of 2001 as Ben’s Client Services Coordinator.

Stella Hermosillo

Stella is a graduate of Snyder High School. She worked at a local cable office for 18 years as a customer service representative and was later promoted to retail sales supervisor. Stella is married and a mother of two children. She has been employed with Michael since September of 2008 as his assistant.
